PJL Group has raised more than $7,000 for Movember during celebrations marking a triumphant 10 years in business.
PJL Group General Manager, Luke Buckland, said the local mechanical and engineering company raised a total of $7,455.50 for the important charity thanks to the generosity of those who kindly donated items for the auction held at the Family Fun Day last Friday.
“The open day event was a great afternoon and our way of thanking employees, loyal clients and stakeholders for their support over the past 10 years,” Mr Buckland said.
“We have been involved with raising funds for the Movember Foundation for several years now. We feel strongly about addressing men’s health within our workforce and we take a proactive approach.
“Movember has made a commitment to tackle men’s health on a global scale. The Foundation addresses some of the biggest health issues faced by men including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
“The goal of the Foundation is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25 percent by 2030. Anything we can do as an employer as far as raising money and raising awareness is a small step towards helping to achieve this national target.”
PJL Group would like to thank the following businesses for kindly donating to the auction and the 10yr Celebrations - BBF Industrial; Edcon Steel; BOC; Western Paint; BSC Motion technology; Pirtek; JAX Tyres; Wurth; Lowes Petroleum; Burson Auto; Gasweld Wagga; Pybar; Test ‘n’ Tag; Adloyalty; Reliable IT; Vulcan Steel; Oils Plus; Kennards Hire; Viatek; Greengate Butchers; D’Aquino’s; West Orange Motors’ and William Adams.
